2G case: CBI opposes plea to probe Home minister role

The CBI on Tuesday opposed the plea to probe the alleged role of home minister P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum allocation case. The CBI told the Supreme Court that the investigations in the 2008 2G spectrum allocation scam have been completed. It also told SC that any decision to probeChidambaram's role is to be taken by trial court and not by Supreme Court.
Earlier on Sept 15, Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy moved a fresh application before a special trial court seeking directions to make Home Minister P Chidambram a co-accused in the second generation (2G) spectrum allocation case.
