American Biscuit is no Parle G or Marie

We in India eat biscuits during tea-time; our concept of biscuits resides usually in Parle-G or Marie.Oh! What wonderful taste does it render to our taste buds when eaten dipped in tea. Eating biscuits with friends, relatives, family members, it’s such a pleasure. In India eating biscuits while watching movies also has a charm of its own. If it is raining outside the pleasure of hot tea and biscuits indoors is even more comforting.
Much to the surprise of we Indians, biscuits in the US are completely different. Biscuits in US resemble small bread rolls, but are much lighter with a flaky crust. Americans love biscuits with eggs and sausage either for a special breakfast or at cheap 24-hour diners very late in the night after several hours of drinking to“soak up the alcohol.”
Not so sure whether it will pamper our taste-buds, Americans eat biscuits with gravy also. Of course, in America, what Indians call gravy is just curry juice? American gravy is a sauce made with flour and the fatty drippings from roasting a chicken or turkey.
