BJP to remove Pokhriyal; Khanduri to take charge
The apex BJP parliamentary board on Thursday night took an in principle decision to replace Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal with forward looking Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri as the state goes to polls later this year.
The move to replace Pokhriyal with Khanduri, who is seen to bedevelopment oriented with a clean image, was piloted by party president Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitely, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, and Rajnath Singh, MP and former party president.
