Mexico Tequila: The Misunderstood Drink
Tequila, the national drink of Mexico, is so tightly regulated by the Mexican state that very little of what we actually consume is technically tequila. So technically, tequila can only produced in the province of Jalisco, and it necessarily must be produced from the agave plant. Mexico even has laws over production and usage of the drink and its name, claiming international copyright over it.
