No police remand for former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt as yet
A sessions court here on Tuesday reserved its order on Gujarat government's remand revision application of arrested IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt.
The Ahmedabad Sessions Court reserved its order till October 7. The court had last week rejected police demand for Bhatt’s remand and sent him to judicial custody. However, the state government had yesterday challenged in the sessions court, a magisterial court order denying remand of Bhatt, arrested for allegedly threatening and forcing a constable to sign a false affidavit.
During the hearing Bhatt's lawyer IH Sayed contended that the revision remand application of the state government was not maintainable in law. He cited Supreme Court for more details....
