Obama is the most desirable neighbours for Americans in 2010.

Most of the Americans would like to live next door to the country's  First  Family next year, according to a survey which named golfer  Tiger   Woods and octomom  Nadya   Suleman as undesirable neighbours.

In the third annual Zillow Celebrity Neighbour survey, 14 per cent of Americans polled said they would like to be neighbours with President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha in 2010.

The Obamas were followed by Sarah Palin (12 per cent), talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia DeRossi (12 per cent), country music superstar Taylor Swift (9 per cent) and Oprah Winfrey (7 per cent) as most desirable neighbour for 2010.

"For two years in a row now, Americans have made it clear that they think politicians and talk show hosts make the best neighbours. If nothing else, there will be plenty to talk about at the summer barbecue,"Zillow.Com vice president of communications Amy Bohutinsky said.

The survey by the online real estate marketplace polled 2000 Americans, who said they were opposed to living next door to a brood of young children,"particularly those that come with a television crew and paparazzi". Suleman, the California single mom of six who this year gave birth to octuplets, was named the least desirable neighbour of 2009.

Americans polled for the survey said they would not want to share a fence with Woods also, whose reputation took a hit when his sexual escapades came out of the closet. He was named among the least desirable neighbours of 2009. Jon and Kate Gosselin, who star in reality TV show Jon& Kate plus 8, and their brood of eight children also did not make good neighbours this year, the survey added.

Two controversial couples famous for capitalising on media attention also made the worst list. Eleven per cent of Americans polled said they did not want to live next to Richard and Mayumi Heene, parents of the infamous Balloon Boy.

Reality TV stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt received 8 per cent of the vote. Britney Spears, voted the least desirable neighbour of 2008, ranked seventh in the 2009 list.

Indian sweets, drinks and clothes get copyrights

Places famous for their food, drink or clothes  like Tirupati Ladu, Goa Feni and Banarsi Saree - from much before the days of copyrights and trademarks won the exclusive right to use these names in 2009.

International Ban on Kotla after pitch fiasco????

The Ferozeshah Kotla stood disgraced yesterday after the fifth and final India-Sri Lanka ODI was abandoned following visiting captain Kumar Sangakkara's refusal to play on a dangerous pitch, raising the possibility of the venue being banned for a minimum of one year.

The pitch fiasco, which brought an abrupt and embarrassing end to the five-match series which India won 3-1, has cast a shadow of uncertainty over Delhi's prospects of hosting 2011 World Cup matches.

As per the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, a first time breach could invite"a suspension of the venue's international status for a period of between 12 and 24 months together with a directive for appropriate remedial action and the need for prior ICC re-accreditation as an international venue".

Indian Rupee Coins being turned into razors in Bangladesh

With five rupee coins being smuggled into Bangladesh for making razor blades, the RBI has decided to change its metallic content.

" This (smuggling) has been going on for quite some time now. We are looking into it," RBI Executive Director H R Khan said, when asked to comment about the smuggling of the coins to the neighbouring country.

Six razor blades can be made from a single Rs five coin. Each blade sells for Rs 2, police sources said. Khan said the metallic content of the 5 rupee coins are now being changed.

"We are now changing the metallic content of the Rs 5 coin so that the new ones will not be lucrative for melting. The new metallic content of the cupronickel coin will reduce its attractiveness for smugglers," he said.

The RBI was also coordinating with the police and other authorities to ensure that coin smugglers do not have a free run. Periodic instructions were being been given to security and intelligence agencies to check the menace, Khan said.

Bank officials said the smuggling has also contributed to the shortage of small coins.
